Q. I am on the cingular network will JLiveHelp work for me ?
A. Yes, absolutely. MyRingToneServer works with every modern network.
Q. Why do you charge a yearly fee ?
A. We enable you to have easier access from your phone via (for example) http://www.MyRingToneServer.com/users/example, once registered you don't actually have to use this address you can use the address that MyRingToneServer displays on your screen, but the nice name (via our site) is easier to type, easier to remember and easier to bookmark as it never changes. If, after the first year, you choose not to renew your license, a special feature of your copy of MyRingToneServer is unlocked that allows you to still use it on your machine and still access it via your phone but you just cannot use it via the easier address - you have to access your ringtone server via its WAN IP address (for example) http://101.102.103.104:21080/.
Q. My phone plays MP3 files but insists that ringtone files are MP3 files with DRM forward lock enabled, can MyRingToneServer help me out ?
A. Yes, absolutely. Select the settings screen (via the file menu) and turn on DRM forward lock, if you have friends with different phones, turning off DRM forward lock so they can download your ringtone is just as easy as turning it on.
Q. How easy is it to install ?
A. This depends on your internet connection. Some people install in less than 2 minutes, others have to get in touch with us to help explain the complexities of their home network. We have installation instructions available online and these instructions contain links to more detailed support pages should you need them.
Q. What is port forwarding ?
A. This is the most common term used for configuring your network to allow incoming traffic. We have a whole section of support pages relating to port forwarding because there are so many different routers, DSL boxes and cable modems out there and from a home network point of view your phone is "incoming traffic".
