DRM forward lock

Some phones require DRM forward lock be used for downloading your ringtone, (not all phones though) but for those that require it, what you end up with without using DRM forward lock is a file on your phone that you cannot install as a ringtone. It's just about enough to drive you mad.

With MyRingToneServer, you don't have to worry, switch it into DRM forward lock mode (via the settings screen) and select the encoding type that your phone needs.

We suggest: Unless you know your phone needs this, try downloading WITHOUT it turned on. If you discover you do need it, turn it on but also, READ ON to learn about the encoding type that goes with the forward lock mechanism.
Encoding Type

Which encoding type you need can be a little trial and error, select the wrong one and you get something like a "Not Supported Content" error on your phone, no harm done but it's a little annoying.

The good news is there are only 3 encoding types to choose from, 8bit, binary and 7bit.

8bit is known to work on Samsung T809 phones but there are so many model phones out there that we wont even begin to try to compile an entire list and then keep it up to date.

We suggest: try 8bit first, then binary, then 7bit. When you find the one you need, your trial and error troubles are over.
