MyRingToneServer can either work in full server mode or in client mode.
Both modes give you the functionality you need to download ringtones to your phone.

So why the difference?

Client mode is the easiest to set up. You can install it and use it in less than a minute, it effectively bounces your requests for ringtone downloads off of MyRingToneServer.com.

Server mode has some performance advantages to it and fully copes with extra slow network traffic / congestion, but configuring server mode on a home network can take a computer technician 2-5 minutes and a non-technical person can struggle for up to an hour before giving up.

One MyRingToneServer registration allows you to use MyRingToneServer in either mode.
